5. How do I calculate the Customs GST amount imposed on my online purchases?

For shipments to Singapore, all declared values of goods, vCare and freight charges are converted to Singapore Dollars at the latest exchange rate as provided by Singapore Customs.

The Goods and Service Tax (GST) is calculated based on the CIF of all packages in an invoice.

Current GST rate is at 7% of the total CIF (Cost, vCare and Freight)

To estimate the GST applicable for your invoice, simple sum up the cost of your products with the shipping cost and vCare charges, if applicable, and multiply it by 7%.

Please refer to our Shipping Rates page for more examples on GST computation.

GST Relief is granted for packages (excluding intoxicating liquors and tobacco products) imported via air freight that do not exceed S$400.

If the value exceeds S$400, the entire sum would be subjected to GST.

16. Why is my shipping fee so high? Are there any tips to reduce the shipping fee? (e.g. Consolidation, etc.)?

*Please note that consolidation is only applicable for Singapore customers.

When your package reaches our facility in US, Europe, Japan or China, we will measure and weigh the package to calculate the volumentric and actual weight of the package. As per freight industry practice, the chargeable weight of a package is calculated based on Volumetric or Actual weight, whichever is higher.

Volumetric weight of a package is a calculation that reveals the density of a package. A less dense package generally occupies more volume of space compared to its acutal.

Volumetric weight = [ length(cm) x breadth(cm) x height(cm) ] / 5,000cm
Minimum chargeable weight is 0.5kg and subsequent weight step is 0.1kg thereafter.

You can advise your merchant to ensure proper packaging and pack your purchase into a smallest possible box.

In addition, you can consolidate your shipping charges by paying them together. As such, only a single base charge is billed.
